You wanna know why the PS1 is better? I bought an N64 on week 1. I bought a PS1 almost a year later. By generation's end I had maybe 20 N64 games (if that many). I had well over 100 PS1 games.
Before that, I was a Nintendo gamer, exclusively.

None of those games are better than the best game of all time: Zelda Ocarina of Time
Crash is nothing next to Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64
There are a lot of game from the 64 that can compite and win in your list:
Golden Eye 007
Perfect Dark
Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie
Killer Instinct Gold
Zelda Majora's Mask
Paper Mario
Mario Party 1, 2 and 3
Battle Ogre 64
Get Force Gemini
Wave Race 64
Conker's BFD
Doneky Kong 64
and RE2, wich is the best RE ever.

I played Xenogears once and i don't even understand it.

the only n64 games I played and liked were Goldeneye and OoT

Easily one of the best developed and mature stories on any console still to this day, there is much more depth to it then OoT. The PlayStation is home to many expertly writen stories, the N64 just simply is not.
To be honest I'm a man who prefers to thoroughly play a few games - I buy maybe twenty games for a console at the most. This probably contributes to why I so prefer the N64 - it had a more concise and higher quality library.
There were good games on the PS1 (personal favourites - Medieval and Gran Turismo 2) but nothing that was (in my opinion) quite as amazing as SM64, Ocarina of Time or GoldenEye. And yes I did play (and own) both FFVII and Metal Gear Solid.

I'll admit that the absolute best games (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario 64, No Mercy, Zelda) were on the N64. But the most, by far, great games were on the Playstation.
And CTR > Mario Kart 64. Trust me. The gameplay, tracks, power ups, battle mode, boss battles, music, graphics, and modes beat anything Mario Kart (and Diddy Kong Racing) had to offer. I didn't expect CTR to rock. It just did. It rocked hard. I'd put my hand on the bible and testify to that. It's practically a fact. CTR is better. Too bad the CTR sequels sucked.
but the N64's library is anything but strong compared to the PS1, all the N64 had going for it were a handful of very very good first party titles, where as the PS1 has just as many great games, and even more that are really good in their own respect. The strength of the PS1's library is really what sets it apart and why it sold so many more consoles.
I'm by no means a N64 hater, I own an N64 and still play it, but the PS1 is just on another level.
