Forums - Sony - God of War III >>>>>>> Dante's Inferno

I would be more interested in Dante's Inferno.

It will be just as inaccurate as God of War... but in a more interesting way then God of Wars... the games i believe being conceived during a drunken Hercules the Legendary Journeys marathon that had someone put in Chronicles of Riddick by accident towards the end of the party.

Still considering neither game has been released... or even has gameplay info, and one is a new IP... it seems a bit early to judge.

How about Halo 3, was it the first FPS?...
Ok, how about Gran Turismo? Was it the first racing sim?...No? Oh wow, look at that...

Different games share the same genre, wow...who would've thought?! Each game can stand on it's own, and while God Of War has made it's mark as one of the best Hack N Slash/Action Adventure games, that doesn't mean another game cannot compete.

You all wonder why developers churn out sequels upon sequels, and new IP's are hard to come by, because people like you all discourage anything that SLIGHTY resembles an exclusive title, i bet that if this was a PS3 exclusive, no one would care for shit. Just like Heavenly Sword. What about Quantom Theory the so called, "Gears Of War clone"? No problems with that right? Why? Because it's different, and only shares the cover mechanic. There's so much more examples, and Dante's Inferno is no different, let it be it's own game for goodness sake.

Ya dude. Have to agree with the others that this is a rip-off.

I mean did you watch that DI video posted above? I mean the whole section with that giant boss taking swipes at you as you fight with smaller henchmen is taken straight off the GoW franchise. I remember the very fist stage of GoW II had an exactly similar fight.

Heck even the attack animations and weapon look of Dante is too similar to Kratos.

I am not saying that Quantum Theory is any less a rip-off though.

Does Dante's Inferno have multiplayer? If it does I am CERTAIN it will be more fun to me.

What a rip off.  I may rent both of these when the time comes but I will not purchase either (without multiplayer support).

Nah....Quantum is pretty much being called a Gears clone, and Heavenly Sword was called "Goddess of War" (even by PS3 fans) for a long time, and Ninja Theory was constantly on the PS Blog trying to say that they weren't the same (probably just PR for you to go buy the game). So, if you're trying to pull the "had it been exclusive, you wouldn't mind" thing....it's not gonna work

Is it really a question of what game will be better? Seriously?

I have seen many of the clips released on God of War 3 AND Dante's Inferno and the winner is CLEARLY God of War 3.

GOW 3 is first off made by Sony Santa Monica. They're a great developer who's past work has received critical acclaim. Secondly, they pioneered the God of War playing style and, from the E3 demo, they seem to have improved or polished many parts of the gameplay. Thirdly, they have a higher budget and get the advantage of working on one platform.

Dante's Inferno on the other hand, looks to be very much a 'rip-off' of God of War. It also has the disadvantage of not having a memorable character. Dante looks pretty... well, I would say overall Meh... Take a look for yourself.

The environment certainly plays an important role in just about every game. But again, God of War 3 is going to trump here as well. The enviornment is alive. Titans move in the background and destroy shit in a wonderful setting of greek myth. Dante's Inferon looks to have nothing but bland setting of brown going to another bland setting of brown. Nothing is alive, it's all very boring. Or at least that's what I saw from the demo they released.

I looked for the first time at Dante Inferno pics
then I came back on VGC and I find this thread

it is me or it is really ugly ? or is it because of the pictures themselves ?
