------------------------------------

I could not agree anymore ^_^

and too add, multiplats are not worse on the ps3 because the ps3 is weaker or worse...IT IS ALL THE DEVELOPERS DECISION WETHER TO TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE BOTH VERSIONS THE SAME OR NOT

how about you guys???you guys agree with the video???disagree???why????

I use to like John4Lakers, but some of his Opinions are ... questionable.

Still the more bang for your buck bit atm i agree with.

it wasnt john4lakers who made this, it was his partner in EU" LP "

Pretty interesting. So 3-3ghz cores vs 7-3ghz SPEs? Seems like a no brainer to me. 7 elements can be processed in parallel versus only 3. Just to be accurate, I guess I should say 6 elements since he mentioned 1 is used for the OS.

To be honest I always analyzed the PS3 as a supercomputer, Sony could continue to use it for the next generation with an upgraded GPU, and maybe add a true core. It seems like it is easily upgradable at a cost effective amount, which is precisely what a supercomputer is.

I pretty much knew it was PS3 winning this round when you said "I couldn't agree more" without having to watch the vid.

well wither way, anyone should agree...its a fact that the cpu is stronger on the ps3 and it shows

Oh, yea, the directions were right. This is the right room for the next PS3 fanboy circle jerk.

I give this thread a 9.2.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

7 x 3 Ghz SPU vs 3 x 3Ghz Cores- makes it sound like the PS3 should be generations ahead when in fact most head to heads have the 360 emerge victorious. I mean if the PS3 really is much more powerful than the 360 than it shouldn't matter about lead development consoles or porting issues.

It's 1 core working at 3.2 GHz, with 7 SPEs that can handle individual tasks..not 7 3GHz cores. You watched the video and saw that part where he said "It's commonly mistaken..." didn't you?

To sum up the Vid

Ps3 has an incredibly powerful processor which is very difficult to tap into the power of, but not impossible provided developer budget and time is infinite.

However it exists in the real world (*) where due to its year head start and install base coupled with a more standard architecture the 360 has become a defacto HD Standard for game engines. Most developers are commercially restrained due to a fiscal need to produce a multi plat game and use said engines.

Therefore for the most part the Cell advantage will remain unrealised.

* The REAL WORLD is the one which is thin on the ground as regards FANBOYS.
