Forums - Gaming - Retro-Gaming... Anyone else love it?

I grew up during the NES/SNES/Genesis days... and in many ways miss it... but nowadays is a great time to be a gamer from those days.

There's the virtual console to download games I never played (just played Super Metroid for the first time, fantastic game...)

There's tons of great 2D games for the Nintendo DS that take me back, like New Super Mario Bros and Sonic Rush...

There's Megaman 9, and the Konami Re-birth series on Wii-ware...

And I can get psyched up by watching Angry Video Game Nerd or reading IGN Retro.

I almost want to buy an XBox360 just so I can play XBLA games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Arcade game, and the HD Street Fighter 2 games.

Anyone else enjoying this retro-rebirth as much as I am?

I would suggest either the Wii or the PS3 actually. The Wii has a lot of old school Nintendo games. And the PS3 has a large amount of PS1 games. The Xbox has a good selection as well just not as good as the ther two consoles. Though it does have some old Rare games that makes it worth it,

I'm all for it. It's nice to see the mix of modern advances playing into the classic formula and presentation.

My friends and I wish we were older so that we could've been truly aware of the awesomeness that is the NES/SNES

I don't care much for it

I LOVED the days of my SNES & PS1 but they are gone & I enjoy the new experiences!

I still play games from the 80´s and 90´s, mainly emulated on PC.
