Forums - Gaming - Dragon Age PC Mag review (94%): "RPG of the DECADE' - Bioware Does it again

Nothing can be better than the coming Mass Effect. I love Bioware, I will love Dragon Age, I'm sure of that, but, enough with the fantasy medieval settings.
Nothing to see there in terms of scenario, and nothing to grab you emotionally. (Oblivion anyone).
Mass Effect 2 and 3 will be the RPG experience to remember for years.

Have you seen any of the Morrigan videos? I don't see why you say there's nothing emotional to grab you. Also Oblivion experience in medieval settings is nothing compared to the likes of Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale, have you played both of those games?

Dude, I had finished those games long before you even heard about them.
So... assuming that you played them, were you emotionally evolved? Evolved with Salvatore crap? (the games are awesome, but the Forgotten Realms setting is so flat).
No comparison to what has been achieved with Mass Effect.
This is only my opinion of course.

Good stuff, though stupid difficulty settings worries me...

I love Bioware works. Though I wish they would change their tune and start implementing Multiplayer again. There lame excuse? because they would have to handcraft the other players to be in the story. Bull people just want MP to play together. BG/NWN did it with great success. Yes I'm bitter that the next great Bioware RPG won't have MP support.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Erm... Why the assumption that you finished those games before I even heard of them? I bought those games when they first came out on PC, so unless you got them before the release date, you probably did the worst assumption ever in there.

Actually to me, while having a good story, Mass Effect is on par with what KOTOR achieved, but that's besides the point. You're comparing a medieval setting with a sci-fi one, scenarios and settings that have different evolution paths in terms of what can be achieved in history, characters and most other things.

Oh, and by the way, I started PC gaming while it still had the old DOS in orange letters, with games like Indy 500, Stunts, Arkanoid and the such, in case you're wondering where my pc gaming background comes from.

They did, but in my Baldur's Gate fan heart, I still call it :)

Don't, you set yourself for a disappointment, DA:O won't be similar to BG, at all.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

its the First FF of a new generation, Legends are created with the release of the First FF of a new gen (be it FF1, FF4, FF7 or FF10)

Tsc. Tsc. Darth .

FFVI and FXII are the best FF ever and they are last FF of a gen.

The supreme FFVI deserves a remake HD now.

@RageBot

I hardly ever am dissapointed by a game. Even if it doesn't meet what I had in mind, I'll be content as long as the game is good. The only one that has ever dissapointed me to a point in which I couldn't even play the game without total boredom was Far Cry 2, in the genre I don't have much fondness for, FPS.

So when it comes to RPG's, i'm hardly even let down, much less dissapointed ;)
