Forums - Microsoft - PS3 Getting Netflix & Cross Game Chat , Will you Continue to Pay For Gold?

Is Netflix going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back? For those of you who own both consoles, do you plan to continue paying for a Gold membership?

We don't have netflix here in UK/EU so can't really say it's a deal break...

vidzone is enough for the PS3 for me... but netflix is an added plus though.

Lol I mentioned that this thread will be up in the Netflix thread. Did not take long to come up!

Anyway my take on the subject - the most important aspect of PSN and Live are online gaming - both have been offering the service for some time now, with the latter requiring payment. Live users will continue paying as that service is way too important to pass by with the games in this gen.

The Netflix for PS3 setup gives me the impression it is actually Netflix for BD-Live. Meaning that any BD-live supporting player might be able to use that disc. Not that it detracts from the value for US PS3 owners of course, but it might mean Netflix just found a path to offer their service on a much larger set of home consumer devices.

Well..yeah, i don't really care what the ps3 has since i only own a 360 and i am content with that.

Of course. 30£/year is nothing. Just because of the 360 controller I'd rather play multiplatforms on 360.

i dont even have a netflix account. so i dont really care.

However it seems microsoft already got it covered with zune marketplace streaming.

We'll see if it can 1 up netflix.

what makes you so sure ps3 is getting cross game chat, its been rumored before and never happened. (though i hope ure right)
