PS3!

Flame war begin!

Which games do you like best on the system? What elevates it above the others according to your set of standards?

MGS4, Uncharted 2, Valkyria Chronicles and LittleBigPlanet are as good as the best Wii exclusives and the HD multiplats push it far infront. Arkham Asylum, GTA IV, Dead Space, Fallout 3, Bioshock, The Orange Box etc.

What Wii exclusives are you comparing those games to?

Mario Galaxy, Brawl, Twilight Princess (I know it's not really exclusive) and Metroid Prime 3. I think the PS3 exclusives I mentioned are on par with those.

I think I'll have to go with an HD console for this one. I've always loved Nintendo's 1st party offerings, but after the first year of the generation I've had this feeling that they've tried to "casualize" their franchises for the greater good of gaming or something along those lines. I was excited for Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii... Now I'm scared to see the next F-Zero and Star Fox (if they're not handled by third parties like the previous iterations), heck even Zelda! I must say I really liked Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption though.

Now, I'm picking the HD consoles because of one thing mostly: XBLA and PSN are two awesome features to come out of this generation. Developers can release remakes of their old games so new gamers get to enjoy the goodness of the past, or they can even release ports of their original games with some updates added to them (online multiplayer for example). Even entirely new games like Shadow Complex, Castle Crashers and Fat Princess can come out of these services. Wiiware is neat as well, but it's mostly filled with shovelware since you can't really have "proper" lengthy games on the system because of the memory limit Nintendo has put on the developers. Hopefully, by next-gen, Nintendo will have proper online services and keep up with the competition because it's inevitable that this is the way gaming is going to go from now on.

Anyways... with all that said, I have to go with the 360's game library as well. I'm more familiarized with the IPs already available on the system like Halo (which I find incredibly fun and never gets old), Banjo-Kazooie, etc.. New IPs like Gears of War 1/2, Mass Effect (at the time it was exclusive), and many more have blown my mind. The other 3rd party games that came out for the system have been great so far as well (for the 360/PS3/PC obviously).

I must say that it was hard to choose between the PS3's game library and the 360's game library because of titles like Uncharted 1/2, Valkyria Chronicles and Metal Gear Solid 4. I guess one console has more single player game experiences to offer than the other, but it's the "party system" that will always get my vote.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

I think this thread was created for khuutra to try to convince and argue that the wii has the best games. GL with that.

Have you considered that you might not think these are the best Wii exclusives if you were to play more Wii games? I can imagine you preferring Radiant Dawn to any of the Wii games listed in your collection, for instance.

It is for nothing of the sort.

What system has the best games in your estimation?

can you tell us please what are the best Wii games. I can only go by reviews since haven't played them.

DGC, refer to point 4.

I understand this topic may not be particularly fair to single-console owners, but have you had any experience at all with the Wii or 360?

Or to people who only have like 3 or 4 games for a console. You can't even really say much about the library.

To answer the OP:

I think the PS3 the best games out of the consoles, but if I had to make a statement about the entire library my answer is different. I think the 360 has a better overall library, but the PS3 contains the majority in my top 10 games this generation.

I haven't played enough to tell you what the "best" Wii games are, but I can tell you the ones that I've had the best time with:

Twilight Princess
Mario Galaxy
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Wii Sports Resort
Zack and Wiki
World of Goo
Wii Sports
Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
Super Mario Strikers Charged
Mario Kart Wii
Little King's Story
Rune Factory Frontier

I have spent limited time with some of these games (hence why a couple are missing from my collection) but they are the onees that have left the strongest imprssion on me. These, of course, are the games I find most fun.

I haven't included my Virtual Console games because there are too many and the ones that I've bought are all fantastic, and ditto for WiiWare - though Lost Winds and Mega Man 9 get a mention too.

Don't take this list as definitive, though, because my experience is necessarily limited by time, money, and my 360.

Well since I own a 360 obviously I'm gonna go with the 360. I've owned an Atari 7200, SNES, PS1, PS2, and a 360 and I would say the 360 has the best library of any console I've owned. And yes I'm considering multiplat games since its available on the system. My gf owns a Wii which I feel is good for casual gaming but as a whole I'm just not impressed at all with the system. I would have to say its the worst console I've played from Nintendo. I've played NES, SNES, 64, and Wii. The motion gimmick has worn off and now its about quality of games. I would like to play the PS3 exclusives and I might own one in the future but as of now I dont have the money since I'm in college. My types of games are the ones the HD consoles provide.

I don't think my mind will change. For every Wii game I want to try but haven't gotten aroud to renting, there are 5 PS3 games in the same boat.
