My personal preference this gen goes to the PS3 - I looked into the games' libraries before buying last June (I had lost touch with console games) and went for the PS3 because of MGS4, LBP, the then upcoming KZ2 and inFAMOUS, as well as GTA4 and AC (when compared with the Wii).

Gamecube games don't count.

Not to mention if it did PS2 and PS1 BC would count... in which case, i'd actually suspect PS3 winning out in the pure titles game.

the problem for you is, however, that ALL the games i listed were high quality titles.

My top twenty games in rough order based on my ps3 and Wii collections:

1. Twilight Princess
2. LittleBigPlanet
3. Okami
4. Uncharted 2
5. Demon's Souls (this may switch with Uncharted 2 over time)
6. Metal Gear Solid 4
7. Mario kart Wii
8. Uncharted
9. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (this one just didn't stick with me like Melee)
10. Super Mario Galaxy (I think it may be the locales, but I wasn't captivated by this like I was SM64 and SMS)
11. Killzone 2
12. Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (and Quest for Booty, which is imo even better)
13. Flower
14. Little King's Story
15. Street Fighter IV
16. Heavenly Sword
17. Valkyria Chronicles (lost my save file 60% through - may never go back =()
18. Super Paper Mario (I absolutely love the style of this game, but I can't seem to get around to finishing it)
19. Armored Core: For Answer
20. Infamous (lost my save file 50% of the way through - don't care to go back =/)

At the bottom there I was kinda reaching for stuff to add, but as you can see, ps3 has my favor by a decent bit.

This list also shows why Nintendo and Sony are easily my two favorite publishers. Just about everything they develop internally is gonna be awesome, and most of the stuff they publish turns out pretty darn good as well (the exception being Lair).

Keep in mind I ignored handhelds because I rarely play those, and I ignored any titles I generally play on PC (L4D, CoD, SupCom, other RTS games). I also left off the Gears titles. I've loved what I've played, but haven't played enough to make a definitive statement about where they deserve to be placed.

I‘ll choose PS3. Sony has so many great exclusives in his hand.For example

2.Uncharted 2: A thrilling, immersive masterpiece. Near perfection.
3.Killzone 2:Great Atmosphere, Best Graphic in a shooter
4.Demon's Souls:Challenging but rewarding.Though it feel short in term of story, but the gameplay and atmosphere are great.
5.Infamous:A great open world game with a brilliant story and exciting action.

There are also some great exclusives that I don't have, but praised by critics.Like

2.Motorstorm
3.Valkyria Choronicles
4.Resistance
5.Ratchet and Clank.

And don't forget some big titles that are going to hit the ps3 in recent years.

With all these exclusives on one console. It's obvious that the PS3 has the best games in the market.

The only two franchises that I think PS3 need are Mass Effect and Splinter Cell (Because I love them)

its actually better than both ps3 and 360's library, so you can put it in front of the ps3. however many >s you want to include is up to you.
