Can anyone tell me why Nintendo would launch their next gen console in 2010 or 2011?

1986,1991,1996,2001,2006 These are the years in which nintendo releases a new console fully in America. If you see the diffrence in which they were released. 5 years is their stredgy. Also it follows a other pattern .Nes was a revolution.SNES perfected it.N64 was a revolution. GC perfected it. Wii is a revolution. Wii 2 will perfect it. Also the revlution system's year ended in 6. The one perfected system ends in 1 There is your answer

your argument is terribly flawed, first off trying to discern trends from numbers in the past, or numerology isn't a reliable argument. Secondly N64 was not a revolution but an evolution, Nintendo was following where PC's were going, only NES and Wii have been revolutionary Thirdly, NES was launched in NA in 1985, not 86, and was released in Japan in 1983, meaning it was seven years before it's successor was released. Also here is something your forget, expect for the NES, Nintendo never launches first

still it mostly holds true, there is at least reason to believe his argument has ground to stand on.  Past trends are nice to look at but the future can always be different as people are caring less about the changes in technology as time goes on.  This doesn't feel like a generation that is coming to an end, it feels like it's just warming up.  As long as MS and Sonoy aren't releasing their new console Nintendo won't either.  I don't see it happening soon.  2010 is absolutely out of the question.

And I would say that Nintendo might want to make a system that doesn't rely on throwing money at the games as the HD console paradigm does.

Where is the mostly, the dates don't fit, the idea of revolution/perfection doesn't fit, the ending years don't fit, the lengths don't fit, his argument is like that Idea you can find the number 13 everywhere, its taking data that doesn't really form a pattern, and trying to force a pattern that fits your preconceived theory.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Someone didn't read the post right. I said the NES was relesaed FULLY in NA 1985 was a test and only in New york. 2nd N64 was a revolution. It revlutionized 3-D gaming. Their is a reason why mario 64 is hailed as the most innovated game 3rd Nintendo killed a cash cow before. The GBA relesed 2001. DS 2004. 3 year diffrence!

At the time I saw that reply, you're post count was 5,226. Add those digits together, and what do you get? 15. So you can... wait, let me try again.

Your vg$ at the time you made the reply was 2,392.54, which is 13 times 184.04153846153846153846153846154. And the date says Oct 26, which is 13x2. What's really spooky is that I'm typing this on the 25th. SPOOKY!

It was released in Japan years before, and saying fully released in 86 in NA is just proving my point, you're trying to shoehorn the data into what you want, why is the NA dates any more important than the Japanese dates? N64 wasn't a revolution, 3D was already in existence on the PC and even the SNES, N64 was just an evolution of the hardware The only reason they killed the GBA cash cow was because of the PSP, they needed to cut off Sony's new hardware, but Sony and MS aren't launching new consoles in 2010 and probably won't in 2012 either, so no need to cut them off.

the way the wii's going right now, i just don't see an new console for a while yet... im getting that feeling Nintendo will expand it to 8 years. so i say another 5 years yet i reckon, yes im that confident, i mean the DS is still kicking and that thing will last even longer

1991, 1996, 2001, 2006 that is enough to start a pattern.  Arguing over the NES that came out 25 years ago when console gaming was dead seems kind of trivial.  I agree that you have to take all factors into consideration and it doesn't mean wii will come out in 2011.

It may sell a long time but we already know Nintendo has been working on the successor for DS for a while.  I'm sure it'll be released in Japan in 2011 at the latest.

No any statistician, would tell you, that you lack enough data points to get a trend Actually the NES is the perfect thing to argue over, because off all of Nintendo consoles, its most like the Wii
