Let's see...I have XP...ummmmm. Nope to get the other system specs I'd have to spend a good $1600. That's 2 PS3's worth of hardware to be able to play a game on PC I can get on PS3.

Yes my PC is 7 years old, and it wasn't a gaming spec'd PC at that time either. But we've had some great times with some great games. It's even got a HDD the same size as my PS3.

Wherever you are shopping for parts stop. That or educate yourself on making a computer since the requirements are met by a computer that costs $300.

This.

If you spend, say, 100-200$ more than one of the HD twins, you'll already be building a computer that'll run games at much higher resolutions, much higher framerates and with much better graphics than either of them could ever dream of doing.

Unless you mean, 1600$ to play the game at the max res offered by Eyefinity, or at about 1000fps or something rediculious like that.  In which case, it'd be understandable to spend that much... however, the gap between the PS3 and that sort of a rig would probably be about 10x the gap between PS3 and Wii, for example, so it wouldn't really be a fair comparison, now would it?

250fps? What do you get all maxed including full aa and af at 1920? (On MW1) I get like 90ishfps with it dipping now and then. My pc was a fair bit more than $1600.

Official requirements also includes a 12-16gb install. And if you want to host you'll need atleast a dual core 2.8gzh.
