What about Smash Bros? I found Melee to be quite the amazing game...mainly because it's built for multiplayer...even more so than Halo.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Fighting games don't really lend themselves to the same comparison, because fighting games by their nature are almost nothing else. Still, it took well over 40 hours to unlock everyone in Melee. So, as far as singleplayer content, the game still took a long time to get everything for use in multiplayer.

Fighting games are really their own class because of the infinite replayability found in the good ones.

Half-Life in 5 hours? I really doubt that.

Me too. First playthrough took at least 15 and replaying still takes at least 8 (knowing exactly what to do).

It depends if it haves good extra's.
I LOVE extra's (and yeah also you Soriku).
Serious games like RE4 are perfect games with a not to long SP but with a load of extra's.
Where is the time that I spended 80$ for Sonic and finish it in a hour or two and was satisfied.

i often play games to get away from people and just relax and now it seems that soon I will be forced to play w/ them or not at all.
Its a bit much, especially for $60.
The people that should buy this, are the ones that will play it multiplayer - and ignore single-player.
At 4-5 hours, why bother with single player at all? Just cut it out, and save a heap of development money.
Or implement a "local" multiplayer mode with bots?
(I don't buy/play these war shooters anyway, so it doesn't impact me at all).
