im doing Forensic Investigation, in 3rd year we do explosives and ballsitics.. can't wait it looks awesome. criminal justice sounds cool, i'm doing a module on civil and criminal law - its really really interesting :D

im only in 2nd year, im gonna wait a bit cos i could be studying abroad next year so i'll wait and see what direction my degree is taking before i decide anything. honestly, im not entirely sure how it all works so il wait see what happens.

I would want to teach High school history or Phys Ed.

Most cops are fine.

I think a lot of peoples mistake is when they try and argue. Like if you get pulled over for speeding, don't argue it, that's stupid. Just apologize. Your more likely to get out of it that way.

There are of course a few abusive dicks. There are going to be abusive dicks everywhere. It's just you only hear about the abusive dicks. The problem is, considering how the world works, you often have to protect dicks just to make sure that the upstanding people don't get screwed because evidence in such sitations is often scarce and a situation with a good cop that is mostly made up looks a lot like a situation where a bad cop was abusing his authority.

It's funny, I've been involved in two misdemeanor situations, and the cops that were involved were actually pretty cool and did their job professionally. Ironically, the one time I was let off for running a stop sign, the cop was a complete and utter dick. He pulled me out of the car, frisked me, and asked what and where I was going. I'm white by the way, and was in a decent neighborhood. It was odd to say the least.

never had problems with cops and it is obvious that there are good and bad cops. Why do people defend cops by saying "well there are good cops out there." If your experience and your neighborhood has bad cops, it doesn't really matter, if there are good cops out there. Imagine if you had a bad hospital or bad surgeon, it doesn't help that there are good hospitals out there, it's what you're experiencing.

Secondly, Cops are under a higher moral standard, the same way health care providers are. Why? Because they undertook the responsibility for OUR care. As I've stated, since I work in health care, you could say everything we try to do is "good" but that is our responsibility. We can also lose our licenses, like a cop losing their badge. Even if 99% of the health care workers do an awesome job, one bad health care worker can make everyone, including the hospital look bad because as the saying "with great powers, comes great responsibilitiy".... so with 'greater responsibility' you have to accept the greater criticisms.

It's not about defending that there are good cops, but rather there are cops out there doing their duty and that is good. Therefore, every cop has a duty to be good cops. Every health care worker has a duty to be a good health care worker. That is the standard, a higher standard that comes with the job description.

Bottom-line: We need more cops doing their duty.
