Most cops are fine.
I think a lot of peoples mistake is when they try and argue. Like if you get pulled over for speeding, don't argue it, that's stupid. Just apologize. Your more likely to get out of it that way.
There are of course a few abusive dicks. There are going to be abusive dicks everywhere. It's just you only hear about the abusive dicks. The problem is, considering how the world works, you often have to protect dicks just to make sure that the upstanding people don't get screwed because evidence in such sitations is often scarce and a situation with a good cop that is mostly made up looks a lot like a situation where a bad cop was abusing his authority.
