Forums - Nintendo - Reason Epic Mickey is on the wii, because of the audience

What i dont get is why we are discussing a game that isnt geared to us? its a Disney game, its a Wii game so it would end up like this:

I would want to buy that too if DDR revolution trend isnt over. And its only 40 songs too.

Anyway there'll be a meltdown especially in these sites if the game isnt what they expected

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

I just want to know why ps360 users wouldn't accept cartoony style. This is complete nonsense. Additionally it wouldn't take much effort, just a simple port would be sufficient.

Oh I dunno about that, if they straight ported it, the HD crowd outright reject it on the grounds that it isn't on par with what they're used to getting. Doing an enhanced port though could be quite costly without guaranteed returns.

I don't know who actually said that (the thread doesn't mention it), but he/she is undoubtedly a grade A moron for it. That could maybe make sense 4 di HD consoles since I'm guessing they want 2 save costs, but hasn't this person ever heard about PS2, the best selling console of all times?!

... and I don't see how motion controls are "perfect" for this, either. That's just fanboy talk.

Dude, I think you just need to stop talking. No offense.

dont worry, I agree with you

That's kind of a Captain Obvious statement.

I've also heard that Warren's a Wii fan, so I'm sure that helped.

MAKE ME. We knew its true. The ironic part was many people here stands for Malstrom even he will say worse if he posted on this site.

Its been three years already give it a rest theres a reason why Epic mickey was exclusive for the Wii. Even I will buy it if the design was like in other Disney cartoons. And yeah, I think the design isnt steampunk I think it will be retro like the ones in the 30s and 40s

The PS2 is an old console, if you didn't notice...

Why would making it for the HD consoles save costs when developing for them costs more than the Wii??

Motion controls are perfect because the game allows you to delete/recreate stuff with the brush Mickey uses.

1.-Yes, I know it's old, but it doesn't matter if it's a 9 or a 90 year old console, what matters is that PS2 still has good selling power for some games, like dis 1, for example... and even when it's clear that the wii version would sell better, the PS2 port would't sell much less 4 sure.

2.- I know that too, and that's exactly why I understand Epic's decision to not port it to those 2 consoles, I thought that part of the comment was clear.

3.- Yes, motion controls are O.K. for this game, but it's not like they can't adapt the gameplay to the Dualshock 2. Capcom did the same with Okami, by releasing the PS2 version first.

Mickey Mouse is the reason why this game needs no advertising. His image alone will sell. Bad move to make the game a Wii Exclusive when it could maximize profit as a multi-platform title.

@gansito
Probably because of motion controls with bonus of lower dev cost (no need for HD).
