Forums - Sony - Namco thanks Japanese 360 Tales of Vesperia owners for being beta trialists

Well, it is policy that if you're going to release the PS3 version later, then you need to put additions in it so PS3 owners will have a reason to buy it.

Let's look at it this way. Should Namco spend all that money to put it on 360 in the first place when they know that Japanese consumers don't buy 360 games and the vast majority of 360 gamers in the West would rather by a second rate shooter than a first rate jrpg?

360 fans that like the game should thank Namco for making this game available at all on their system if they like it considering that 80% of 360 owners probably wouldn't be interested in it, and they shouldn't begrudge Namco for making a better version on PS3 if that's what it took to make the needed amount of money on the game's sales.

Other than that if you're a 360 gamer and you liked the game before and want to see the new version, then shell out the money for a PS3 and the game.

And if you're a PS3 owner looking forward to the game, then keep your fingers crossed that it will come to the West on PS3, and if it doesn't then buy a 360 and the original game (although it's been discontinued and becoming expensive on ebay).

No wonder why there games suck,JRPG fell of when the HD console game out, Quit trying.

Teh fuk are you talkin' about???

Perhaps on the 360, then you may have a point. VC is a strategy RPG that sold 500K... A SRPG DOING THAT.
Heck it beat an ACTION JRPG on the 360...

I don't think Microsoft will be making any more deals with them.

and they are saying it like all 360 owners ARE GOING TO UPGRADE to a ps3.
no doubts about it.
well it's japan. so it's very possible they do believe that.

and namco didn't spend ton of money on 360. the games were funded by microsoft, and the money was used to make a better ps3 version plus profit on the company.

considering how expensive it's to make a HD game, it was a smart way to deal with it, in the end if they managed well the development got a pure profit off ps3 sales.

I was planning on picking this up in the boxing day sales..
Now i'm gonna just say f*** off.

There is no reason to torture yourself

That's have decent ports work. Either a bunch of stuff should be added, the price should be dropped quite a bit or some combination. Good work!

Hey it's not scamming when you get it a year earlier and can get it for half the price of the PS3 version if it were to leave Japan. I wouldn't buy the same game over because of of those kind of tweaks.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

If it comes to NA I'll be buying it. I'm just waiting patiently. There plenty of game to play till it comes out such as demon soul, uncharted 2, and dragon age.
