Now, I want to be clear, I think immunization is a great way to protect people against diseases when there is a high risk of them catching it and it is severe enough to justify the immunization. The question that should be asked that won’t be (by most people) is why would you give a (very) healthy 20 something woman a flu-shot?

Why get one if your healthy? Well the obvious answer is because the FLU CAN STILL KILL YOU. I'm pretty sure the virus doesn't pick and choose depending on physical health. You have a better chance of not getting it being healthy but of course you can still get it. It's a precautionary measure and for the most part is a smart one.

Now as presented, there are problems that can happen with these things but to simply only make that case is very hypocritical. Did you know you take a risk everytime you drive your car, step outside, or go to work. Well I'm healthy so why should I take these risks? Do we understand how this argument wouldn't hold up there... well of course it won't hold up here. We all know what a flu shot is designed to do and the risks it proposes. You have a choice on whether or not you'll take one. This is a very sad instance of what can go wrong but that fear shouldn't cloud people's judgement. The ultimate gain in having one is much better than not.

Yet still I refuse to get one but more on a moral issue as there are others who need it more than I do.
