On top of that, the OP also says that the Wii had an install base of 53M at the end of July, even though VGC only shows 51M, and that PS3 had nearly 24M in LATE august, when the number was much closer to 23M.

yes, they would still be wrong. We go over this almost every single time ms or sony says anything about installed base. I've asked the same thing as you before. The point is, you're wrong. |
No, I'm not wrong. The point is, no one cares what you think. I think everyone would believe Microsoft over you. Go troll somewhere else.

Microsoft didn't fling 34 million out of nowhere. More than likely
33.5 million shipped as of the 1QT (Sep 31st) 34 million as of this report (October 23rd.)

I hope that smiley face means you have been joking the whole time. If so, I would add you as a friend for having me going for that long thinking you were serious.

Well, hopefully you've been joking, because you don't have a clue.

OIC that wasn't a
I trolled you, it was a "
Please accept this smiley face as part of my insult"

So I would like to know, you think Wii is also undertracked by 2M and ps3 is undertracked my nearly 1M?

i don't think it's that much. They already made up for the $1 billion RROD warranty. If anything they probably have just over a billion to make up for and they should get that by the end of the year or Spring of next year. They'll be out of the black completely next year. |

Microsoft was down $6.3B at the end of FY 2008, now depending on what happened over the last 5 quarters, they could be close to being under $5B in the red. But they are no where near going into the black for the entire division anytime soon. It may take 4 more years for that.
Microsoft's shipments figures are in line with expectations. Vgchartz had expected Microsoft's figures to reach 33.3m hardware units (1.9m July-Sept), and 293m games (23m July-Sept), so the actual figures for the quarter were only off by 1.5m units of software and 0.2m units of hardware. We're expecting Sony and Nintendo figures to be similarly close next week.

It is not only my "opinion", that these numbers are shipped. It is the "opinion" of not only several contributors and veteran posters on this site, but admins and mods alike.
What's interesting is that the people who are saying MS is right are posters with an average of 500 posts, and the people saying that it's shipped not sold have an average of 5000 posts.

Congratulations MS on making money on the 360, now there is only 1 left.
Sony get your act together and start making some money! It's not good to have 2/3 console makers in the hole for the majority of the time.
