Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Now i think about it, where are the NSMB Wii minigames?!!

I like Bacon said:
yushire, you are insane to think that people bought NSMB for the mini-games. I bet more than half didn't even know the game had mini-games, especially since a lot of people don't really look up all info on the game and the back part of the cover is always out of site when it's locked in a game case at a store.

People buy New Super Mario Bros. for the main game, the platforming. Same with NSMBW.

You seem to think backwards on everything about NSMBW. First hyping, and now mini-games? I don't understand how anyone can even think this.

As for the hype thing, Brawl was hyped and hyped, and to me it surpassed that, and it is the best selling SSB game, so that topic you made there was just proven wrong.

:-p

to tell you the truth the ones hyping SSBB was the one why SSBB was stagnant in sales. Unlike MK Wii. Its the core gamer tourney guys makes the game being a bridge game to become niche in Nintendo's eyes.

SSBB isnt supposed to be a online multiplayer game, its supposed to be a local multiplayer a social game. But it only becomes worse many people especially tourney guys complains about the online even its not supposed to be the main focus. Most people bought the game are either middle age guys or young adult. The preorder sales week was a disaster. Its supposed to be a evergreen title like MK Wii and Wii Fit, not a blockbuster title like halo 3.

SSBB was kiddified because thats how that game supposed to be. There'll be another evergreen title along with Wii Fit and MK Wii if not for the hype. I hope it will not happen in NSMB Wii

if they had a map as in SMB3 they could have put the old mario bros as a minigame to try to steal the turn of the player passing your spot.

You mean something like this?

Exactly... but now that I see the 4 guys running on the map it seems dumb... there are no turns, everyone plays at the same time.

Perhaps to choose who controls the direction (and next lvl)?? =)

I think many NO. All of Nintendo fans here will just be surprised that NSMB wii will be stagnant in sales because it didnt appeal to casual more than the core. There are many factors why NSMB sells well if its just platforming then Kirby and other Ds platformers sell well on Ds right now

Im sorry its whack a monty not whack the mole. But... you just dont know how many people casuals or core playing whack a monty to beat the highest score.

I think everyone here dont know the significance of whack a monty on sales of NSMB DS even its a minigame. Yeah, you cant sell a game by just one minigame alone but thats the point. Casuals and core alike like that game

I totally agree with you yushire. I used to spend hours playing whack a monty. when I got bored of the main game. 50% of the time I played nsmb I spent it playing the minigames trying to beat high scores and beating my friends. I will be a bit disapointed if they don put mini games. (yes I´m a casual gamer)

Thank you very much for the reply and I thought Im the only one here in this site who thinks that way. yeah, whack a monty was fun. We have good time playing that game it really used the touch screen very well. I hope there are mingames that fully utilized the Wiimote on NSMB Wii
