Good old PS3 fans, keep up the good work. And people wonder why I think ps3 fans can be the worse. Oh well.

Dude, this shouldn't be placed on the PS3 fanbase as a whole. As with any fanbase, there's a select few who go over the top. Some Xbox and Nintendo fans do the same thing so pretending it's just PS3 fans, or that they are somehow "the worst", is irrational.

It's not really irrational.  If all 3 groups have fanboys that act at about the same level you need to examine the base from which they operate.

PS3 being the last place console means that certain people who go over the top have to go over the top MORE.

I mean, think about it.  If a Wii fan, a 360 fan and a PS3 fan each said their system was going to sell 200 million consoles.  Is not the Ps3 fan the "worse" of the 3?  His claim is more unrealistic.

Can someone explain how the hell that ranking works? There are 3 different editions there all with different scores.

The way I see it, U2 is still below OoT when that is factored in - although I admit that I think that rating system is BS. But I don't care which one gets the nod in the end because neither of them are the true best game of all time.

ALttP is better than OoT anyway. Hell, ALttP is my personal "Best Game of All Time". Yes, I have played U2. Yes, I liked it - a lot.

In fact, the way that screwed up ranking system works, someone should rectify the oversight that is OoT rating higher than ALttP by rating "Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Ultra Ancient Edition", and give it a 10. It would have about as much credibility as "Gamestats" placing of the U2 FHE.

Did uncharted 2 just get renamed final fantasy 7/socom 2. If not then this thread is false

Love how people are comparing the game who doesnt even have 30 reviews with the game who has 80 reviews

This is barely relevant. So OOT should be penalised because internet reviewing was less well established at the time?  Will U2's status be discounted in a couple of years when we have 200 reviews contributing to each meta score. If anything a lower number of reviews is a handicap as a single bad review can affect the average more than a single bad review among many more.

Anyway, I have always felt that comparing games from different generations is fraught with peril, there are just too many variables to account for. In my mind Twilight Princess is clearly a better game than OOT but it's impact and relative quality were significantly less.

U2 is undoubtedly one of the games of the generation, it may even end up being the game of the generation and hence may earn it's place among the best games of all time, but there is no single best game in any meaningful sense.

Why exactly? You certainly implied that a game with fewer reviews and is not worthy of comparison to a game with more reviews, I don't understand the logic. 80 reviews averaging 97% does not equate to a better game than one which averages 99% over 30 reviews.

If we are going to use Metacritic/Gamerankings as a means of comparing games between generations, and I have problems with this anyway, the end result is that presently OOT is ranked higher than U2.  Whether it has 30 reviews or 300 is kind of irrelevant because in the end it still doesn't tell us which is the greater game, just which one has a higher aggregate score.
