My economy went from weak to fair when I allowed a little of my rain forest to be removed for a little uranium to be mined. Hopefully my environment isn't too bad.

I wanna know how my people are the 2nd most armed of the region when it says the crime is low. Maybe giving people that much freedom wasn't such a good idea

How likely are you to comit a crime when everyone in your country has a gun?

Are you going to steal the purse of some lady who's packing a pistol?

Breaking and Entering when your basically going to walk into a 2 on 1 situation if not more if there are adults there?

Rape someone with a gun?

If the Victims probably have guns it really raises the risk in the "risk vs reward" factor...

It pretty much stops crime except the truley desperate and the crazy.

Still, the thought of citizens armed freely with guns is scary. No matter how much crime and freedom it costs me, I'm gonna change that, I can't have a country of mine (a true country of mine) with people with that mentality

*goes back to making his citizens psychotic*

It's still kinda fun to run it as one.

See unintended results of your actions etc.

What it really makes you think about too is that your running a small country and not a big western nation like most of us are used to.

Things like tariffs and protectionism are vital to small countries who get their buisnesses wiped out by larger companies, yet somewhat immoral for same large companies for example.

Makes sense, for me... I don't care.

I'm pretty much in favor of everything except for actions that directly inflict harm... despite the fact that when it comes to these outlawed rights there stuff i'd never do anyway.

Except Gambling.  I like to play Poker every now and then.  Not for the actual chance of winning, but for the chance to compete at a game of skill and chance where people are invested.  Even a token amount makes people take games way more seriously.

Of course I live in Las Vegas now... and haven't gone gambling once since i've been here, ha.

Well, I'm running Butswania like that, sort of, only I'm going toward an ideal of absolute freedom with some measure of social welfare incorporated.

Tyrant City though

Hoo boy

I imagine i'll keep a decent amount of social welfare in my country as well.

It seems to be working out pretty good.  Taxes are at an acceptable level, government corruption is low.

People on the boards think i'm against social welfare.  I'm not, I'm actually for it.  It's just I want social welfare that will work.  A broken system is just going to bring everyone down in the longterm... for government programs to be reformed, at least in the US they have to be catastrophic.

Really bad doesn't cut it.  You have to find untagged, unknown dead bodies in a basement for something to happen.  (True story, that is actually what finally got government to change VA insurance making it what it is today.)
