Forums - Gaming - Recommend me an SNES game player

So, yes, you see what I'm getting at here.

I would like to get a piece of hardware that would allow me to play Super Nintendo games, since my Super Nintendo is 1500 miles away. I may end up needing one of these thingamajigs at some point, since I plan to get a few SNES games that are not on the Virtual Console and I imagine never will be.

Anyway.

Is there such a thing? Would they need proprietary controllers or would they work with good ol' SNES controllers?

...Things like this are legal, right?

ebay + Super Nintendo = 50$

Yes I have thought of a Super Nintendo as a Super Nintendo game player. That did occur to me.

I'm fairly positive no such (legal) item exists. Extensive patents and all that. But if you could just wait a few more decades...!

Edit: This excludes an actual Super Nintendo, of course.

I'll happily double-check, but I'm not optimistic. Give me a bit, please.

I downloaded an emulator to play Earthbound. I don't see the problem as Nintendo is no longer making money on the game or the console.

You the man, noname.

I have to agree with noname. why not just get an actual snes?

No, i'm pretty sure emulators are legal. I mean WINE is legal afterall.
