I'm considering getting a new laptop, especially with Windows 7 coming out today/tomorrow (depending on time zones). I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice or suggestions on what would be a good laptop.
I'm not looking for some state-of-the-art laptop, it is simply a replacement for my current one (2gb RAM, 250gb HD) that has broken hinges, so it doesn't really function as a portable system anymore. I won't be using the new laptop much for gaming. Any gaming that is done will largely consist of older games (such as Age of Empires 2, Rollercoaster Tycoon).
There are some basic specs that I'm looking for:
- 4gb RAM (or better)
- 1680*1050 screen resolution (or better)
- 15.4" screen (minimum, preferably 17")
- 250gb Hard Drive (minimum, preferably 500gb or bigger)
- DVD R/W drive (not that I use it much, but still good to have)
I'm sure there's a lot of other obvious stuff that I should have mentioned that I haven't, but it is 4am here and I'm not really thinking too indepth about it (as I'm sure that your suggestions won't have those specs but only a 25 minute battery life).
