Forums - Sony - Just started Killzone 2 for the first time

Yeah, easily tied for my favorite single player FPS with Half Life 2 or the original Doom. This game is just amazing on so many levels. I love how it encourages you to be more tactical in how you handle combat than most shooters, and the sense of imersion is just amazing. Enjoy

This game is still my #1 game of this gen, I often see people dog the game it always seems to me like they barely played it themselves or never played it. Alot of people hop on the bad controls bandwagon, and I just don't get it really, it controls fine to me(my guess is i just play so many different games it's easy for me to adjust on control schemes, and i was never that good at CoD online anyway. I know CoD regulars on my FL that complain about it)

I popped it in last night just to see how well it held up against Uncharted 2, and I was surprised - it still looks better in some ways(particularly the animation system), and definitely still competes as the best looking console title. The greatest part about this game is how rewarding shooting the enemies is and how they react to the bullets - It's amazingly real, the blood looks great. The music is also top notch, you don't see action music that good in a shooter. I thought the AI was better than anything I've seen in a game before. This game impresses.

Yea and prepare online for the 'Killzone' that is on search and destroy, you'll love it or you'll hate it.

I agree with you...the controls are hated by ppl just because they are different...the game is a lot like gears of war in first person, you have the heavy feel which adds realism...people were just upset that this wasn't the run and gun shooter they were expecting and that's why they hated it...plus, they suck at multiplayer :P

^^^^^ WIN

Just beware of Rico, that's all I have to say.

My only problem with Killzone is that it is the first game that I played on the PS3 - now all other titles look bland and weak in the graphics department.

see you on KZ2 multplayer xD

Didn't want to make a new thread so I'll post here. Played a good amount of the game by now and I'm over halfway through. The ATC boss fight was pretty good at first I didn't see there's a place to hide downstairs so I was dodging missiles using that little wall was near death the majority of the time but almost got him then I saw the stairs and went down and it was much easier that way.

Veteran difficulty is pretty good, I'm thinking if I had started normal I would have been done with the game by now but because I die more my time with the game is more spread out and I'm always having a good time when I come back to it.

One thing I didn't know about the game before trying it is that it has pretty good sound design and soundtrack. You can tell where an enemy is by using the sound they make in certain occasions like that boss fight. I'm liking the Helghast, but I'm hoping there's more info on them than what I've seen so far.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Veteran difficulty was very hard for me. It broke my spirit, because I can't imagine playing this game on Elite. (I like to finish all of my games on the hardest difficulty possible.) I completed CoD4 on Veteran, and I still don't think I could Elite this game.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Enjoy it.

Probably the best shooter I've played this year (so far).
