Aaaww.. the iPhone and the iPod Touch.. how we hate them for not being an "real" handheld.. with crappy casual games...
I say.. You are missing out!!!!! While the start of the games for the IPhone was not so good it's getting impressive..

A quick look at available games which are really good and worth your money:

Maybe I'll right a bigger review for some games.. but I just got back after a car accident and the only thing I had was my iPhone so I bought and played a lot of games..

Space Invaders Infinite Gene

GAME OF THE YEAR for me... and I do own a DS, WII and a 360.. this is freaking one of the best games ever made. It's space invaders with a twist.. and the twist makes it one of the best Shmups ever.. it's REZ meets Space Invaders.. you control you ship with your finger and well... nothing gets better then that.. go buy it.. now.. AND YES.. YOU CAN USE YOUR OWN MUSIC TO CREATE LEVELS.. O_O .. 10/10

Pacman CE

Anyone who played the xboxlive version knows how cool this game is... had to give a point less for namco's shady DLC tactics

Silly game.. just hop to a higher place... but it freaking addictive... online scoreboard gives this game it's power..

Zenonia

Zenonia is a hack and slash jrpg (or should that be k for korean) like secret of Mana.. It's a fun game with solid controls.. the virtual dpad and the 4 slots for your special moves works pretty well.. Story is like all jrpgs pretty weak.. But 20 hours of solid gameplay is really nice.. one of the longer games I played.. 8/10

Hack and Slash JRPG... but from Korea..

Firemint Real Racing and Need for Speed Undercover

Firemint is a racing simulator and NFS is an arcade racer.. and both are great on the iphone.. the graphics are really good and the controls are really good.. the best thing? the screen doesn't turn with you when you tilt your phone to race.. so you are always looking horizontal.. making it easier to steer.. Firemint Real Racing is hard!! the Ai is real good.. NFS is easier and a bit more fun for me..

Booyy those this game suck (version 1.1) It's slow.. like your grandma can walk faster then that.. and namco's horrible mistake (like in ACE COMBAT)
It has to little in it as a game nut plenty as paid DLC... bad Namco.. bad Namco..

Bluetooth multiplayer... It's really fun.. Just to play Rockband with some friends while on the go is freaking awesome.. the online musicstore is nice.. But the selection that came with the app is just so so.. not good not bad..

Command and Conquer: Red Alert (EA)

Fun game BUT points deducted for giving us 50% of the content.. and the other 50% as DLC..
That's really a shame.. 12 maps in the app and 1 campaign of 5 maps and 6 skirmish maps as DLC

Modern Combat: Sandstorm

The first game that show that FPS can work on the iphone.. 1 virtual analog stick for movement and just swipe and move to get your aim right.. sounds crazy but it works great.. a gameloft game and a nice rip off of Call of Duty 4.. 7/10

Eliminate Pro

A free FPS.. You can only play a few times before you have to recharge (for real money) or wait for a few hours to recharge if you want credits.. but is stupendisly fun with friends..

Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies

Yes the multiplayer zombie gamemode is now on your iphone!! extremly funny.. BUT as with Red Alert points deducted for giving us 1 map..
and the others as DLC.. f that!

Yes it rips of every great scifi fps that was before: HALO, Metroid Prime, Dead Space.. BUT it does it so good.. really impressive graphics... great gameplay.. great controls..great multiplayer

Gameloft brings us a port of one of the best ps1 games ever... Driver! Yes it's Driver.. the only good one... graphics looks good and even better... they tweaked it a bit!! levels are a tad easier (remember the driving test?) then in the orginal version making it the best version of Driver!

After the first 13 mission it becomes an Elite clone.. great fun.. bit repetative after a while.. 7/10

F.A.S.T.

Dogfight game with multiplayer.. 30 missions.. Head to head or 2 vs 2 multiplayer matches.. really a fun game

Ace Combat XI Skies of Incursion

OUCH!!!! only 5 missions.. FAIL!!!! the rest are DLC and also just 5 planes and the other 10+ are also DLC..

It's a great game but in this form I can't give it more than a 6/10.. it can be a 9... combat and flying is good..

Gameloft does it again.. bringing us a complete game for the iPhone..Ace Combat may be prettier.. but this game has the content..

Yeah I know I'm missing a lot of games... :) there are so many games for the iphone.. this is just from the collection that I own..

iPhone games suck hard. I wouldn't pay a cent for 99% of the apps that are available. And the 1% that I would buy are mostly casual games like solitiare/scrabble that are only a couple dollars.

A few games on here people should look at:

• reMovem -- super quick fun little game and is by far my most used app on my iPhone.  Just looking at my game stats, on one of the modes alone I 838 completed games.  There's a free demo but the paid version lets you play combo which is where the real fun is at.
• Edge -- Fun game with a free demo and you might remember from that huge hoopla that Tim Langdell raised and had it taken down for a while.
• UNO -- it's fun but it also drains your battery like crazy for some odd reason.  Also, the control can get a little hairy but it's still a good diversion nonetheless.
• WordFu -- Addictive little word game if you like that sort of thing.
• Mancala -- It's fun if you like Mancala and you can play online with people near you, over AIM, or a random person anywhere in the world.  Just be warned though, playing with random people will usually get you into a game with a douche.

Anyways, those are my most played games on the iPhone.
