I've seen that thread here, and only one pic looks truly bad. The rest look just like a game being reworked for another system. |

Mind posting a more specific link? I don't see a search function on that site.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
I'd have to find it. There were 3 stories discussing it. One link was the one on this site, 2 were for other reports wit similar and different screenshots.

I like this guy and what he has to say. It's not necessarily that things should be cut from Okami so much as it'd be nice if someone finally admited it's annoyingly slow and chock-full of crap you have to do but shouldn't actually have to put up with. If you could skip cutscenes and dialogue in the first play through the the score of the game would go up a full point, maybe two, in my book. Really, the worst thing about the game is that it often feels so tedious.
You do not have the right to never be offended.
| RolStoppable said: Once you beat Okami and start a new game+ you can skip cutscenes. They just have to implement that option for the first playthrough as well. Fighting Orochi three times was annoying, plus all the other bosses a second time. That's Clover. Same in the Viewtiful Joe games, but I think in a game like Okami it's sort of misplaced to fight the same bosses again at the end of the game. Then again I don't want them to cut this out of the game, unless they implement new content instead of the four repeated boss fights at the end of the game. There's nothing wrong with the collectibles in the game, although warping for free would be nice. But if the game is only a port of the PS2 game with good Wii controls I am happy with it as well. |
You said everything about this that I wanted to in the exact same way. So,
well said Rol.

Don't listen to that idiot, Capcom. Wii want Okami.

I'm sorry, but when they start removing things or adding stuff, or anything else to make the original draw out of the original context, I no longer want the game on the WII and stick simply with the PS2 version.
Its like an original beautiful song being changed into a cover song. Removing parts of text, a different sound, but all it does is making the song sound horrible and can never match with the original.
Whatever you do Ready at Dawn but please don't remove parts nor add parts to the game! Got only 1 request, a 480p option, other than that... keep it original and don't mess up the controls ;) Or better say... don't mess with true art.

as a person who loved okami i suggest less awesome games to my friends. why? cause it just isnt enough meat to fat. Cut some fetch quests, make it free to move between the ponds, give exp to get moves instead of having to buy them, definately cut an orochi fight, and cut the last boss fight in like half (it was stupid, i had so many items that i didnt even try).
a great game that would get better by having less (ok, so another dungeon or two would be awesome)
