I think this positive thread is going down the toilet. We have two well known Sony fans voting for the 1st box which make no sense to me or they just being anti-360.

No, Missing is dead right, this is a pointless thread.

The 360 is a truly brilliant console with a huge library and great online functionality. The Xbox was a fairly weak console saved pretty much singlehandedly by the inception of the Halo franchise.

There's no real decision to be made here. The 360 obviously wins and that can be said almost objectively to be true.

I hate threads like this. Positive to a cringeworthy degree and lacking any discernible value.

There are folks who prefeer the original Xbox. Should their opinion suddenly be ignored? The thread is celebrating the brand, in it's entirety. Those who don't see a point to the thread, should cease posting in it. I, on the other hand, recognize gaming in ALL of it's forms, and I see nothing wrong with such a thread.

However, if you see it as a waste of VG space, suggest to the mods of a locking. Otherwise, if there's no use of this thread, TO YOU, I don't see why you posted in it in the first place.

Yeah but besides the hardware failures, the 360 is an improvement in every way from the original Xbox. And wholikeswood is right; really the Xbox's only saving grace was Halo. The 360 not only has Halo but it introduced other great series like Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, and Mass Effect. I don't think anybody who likes the original Xbox better could possibly have a valid reason for it (unless their 360 red ringed or something)

My bad, I still posted a positive comment though. Xbox is a great brand its just not that old yet.

I agree. However, I made this thread under the basis of quality, not quantity. The Xbox brand has accomplished many things in it's 8 years as a brand, and if I'm to recognize gaming in it's entirety, ignoring what Microsoft and their brand have accomplished, ESPECIALLY this gen, is hypocritical of me.


Well in that case it would mean you have to do one for Magnavox, Atari, etc. and the other pioneers of gaming.

XBOX 360! it put the "xbox" brand on the map and actually is in a competitive position with its huge increase in game library and variety across all genres. Was my least favourite machine last generation and the games made me buy a 360 last month on top of owning a ps3.

I'll go with the 360. Definitely has a bigger variety of game choice, and I find myself turning it on everyday, no matter if I'm playing a game, watching a movie, or watching something on Netflix. One thing I give credit to the Xbox for was bringing some PC devs to consoles, like BioWare and Bethesda. Yeah, there's a bit of a nostalgia feeling for me with the Xbox.
