It's much less really. Do not add the PS1 and PS2 era. There is a much higher chance that the same people who bought PS1's bought PS2's than than Sony having 300 million fans. They sold over 300 million consoles, ok, but their fanbase right now has dwindled.

If we go by this logic, there should be a lot more Nintendo fans out there. Oh and just for your information, there is also a lot more PS3 fans being banned than any other fans.

There probably are a lot more Ninty fans out there, that's why Ninty's 1st party games sell millions upon milions and why the DS is going to be the most successful platform ever.

Imo Nintendo is aiming for a different audience. The so called casual gamers are not such geeks as we are. Different demographic, different behaviour.

 

Edit: Even more, a king who rules the world, doesnt need to fight. He enjoys watching others fight to death...

360 fans already feel their system is the leader of the HD systems and Nintendo fans already know their system(s) aren't competing with any other systems.

Anyway, I believe it depends mainly on which forums you go to.  This website attracts certain people compared to websites that just simply reports news and reviews.

I've been to forums where the "Wii hate" is just way too over the top.  I like these forums since there seems to be a variety of viewpoints and fanboys aren't too vocal (compared to other forums that is).
