Forums - Gaming - What do you guys think of American and teenager Gamers...

Usually when I go to forums people will always say that American gamers will always go by whats prettiest or the(latest new fps). Most people judge guys to quick. Same with teenagers...well I kinda have enough that. Im not a graphics whore or a first person shooter fan, I like platformers and games by their gameplay. Im pretty open minded so I want to hear your opinions on this... p.s This is my first post so im new here well I hope we can be friends in the future :)

No, American gamers usually go to the latest casual game. Just look at the top selling games in America, they speak for themselves.

Im an american teenager and I hate COD and HALO. I do love Uncharted and Gears however.

Edit: Gears 1 that is

True... so what do you think of teenagers (waits in anticipation)

I think we are making some might generalization here. While the majority of the "Hardcore" audience can use your description, it most certainty isn't the most or a majority.

Thanks, just tired of people jumping out of the gun... the "dont judge the book by its cover" thing most people dont use...

i live in america....i truly believe america is the place to play an FPS....the sales do speak for themselves...the 360's highest selling game is halo and it would be crap without america....

i am an arab(please no racial statements on forums), but i live in America, but the thing is that most american teens dont hear about new IPs, and even sequels unless its heavily advertised, which is extremely dissapointing, as it shows that most american teen gamers are just those annoying little casual gamers who dont understand simple technological specs, nor have any regard or respect to the devolopers who made the game. Example would be an american teenager disliking a game, and would therefore call it gay, retarded, or anything that would describe themselves

Well I'm a Filipino-American Gamer, I love any genre and respect most developers.

But I do beleive that America is full a FPS place, just like how Europe is majority of Racing fans and Japan with RPG.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

You make it sound like a bad thing. I have many friends that are into CoD/Halo and have barely heard of any other games. That's because they're casual gamers that would rather do other things besides play video games, which is great.

As for the developer part, I personally don't think they owe them some kinda special respect. They showed their support to the devs when they gave them the $$$ to buy the game.

I'm definitely not surprised that Halo/CoD are so popular among casuals - they're easy to get into make great party games. When I had CoD5, plenty of friends would come over and we'd take turns playing it online. I sold it already and now were all waiting on MW2.
