Steam is easy, easy, easy. Go for it on Steam. You just click and forget it, and it's installed a little while later. Downloads are very fast on broadband, Steam can usually max out my cable. Plus, you can install it anywhere without bothering to bring your discs.

I paused all the other downloads and Portal's the only one downloading right now, but my wi-fi sucks ass from this room. It's only at 51%. So I'm playing PEGGLE EXTREME!!!! YEAH!!! I need cake so bad, and it's not in the damn fridge STEAM YOU PIECE OF SHIT.

 dont do that,  The more things downloading at once the faster things go. No clue why it is but it is the truth. 

A lot of Steam games share resources with other games, so when multiple games are downloading at once, they appear to move faster without actually increasing your bandwidth usage.

I have it on the 360 and love it. However, I also have yet to download it off Steam - I have the code from Valve but haven't had time to get it off Steam since I have been playing it on the 360.

The graphics are sweeter on the PC - but the 360 version isn't shabby too.

I am going to do an in-depth comparison shortly on both versions.

I Pre-ordered it from amazon.co.uk (super saver del. ) and it Still hasn't arrived. Not a problem really as I have Metroid Prime 3 & oblivion to finish but.....I really want to play portal. Next time I'll use Steam.

Even with my slow-ass Wi-fi the download only took 5 or so hours and then I beat the hell out of Portal. Best game EVARR. Kudos on reviving my dead thread after I already downloaded and beat the whole game!
