Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft needs to do something else than price cuts..

In Japan at least. They reduced Elite price today but I think it doesn't change anything.

I don't like their strategy on dropping Xbox 360 price, instead of trying to figure out what to do.

2008 it came with huge ammount of Jprg:s but they did boost Xbox 360 nicely for few weeks. but in 2009, nothing..It is doing around 3-5k weekly in Japan which is too low.

I don't know what they have done this year in America/Europe as well...Well expect drop Elite price, and great E3,but E3 only effected to 2010.Not that it needs to do something there..

Star Ocean and Magna Carta II released this year. I really doubt MS is focused on Japan, it is about NA and Europe for MS.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

As far as Japan goes there isn't much I think MS can do. Having some first party RPG titles come out Feel Plus could help some but they wouldn't have the name value of established series. Any third party JRPG would have minimal impact at this point because of all they all show up on PS3 twelve months later.

well whats the point of them continuing to try in japan. a lot of money for very little benefit.

There's no question for MS that in this generation, the battleground is Europe

Japan is a consideration but not the answer. I would say they have done enough now focus your energies were it matters most and you can make a greater difference such as NA and Europe.

Yeah! The have to do something with Japan.
Leave right away.
There is nothing there.
Just old fashioned JRPGs, handheld games, and some Gundam games. That's all.

Japan is lost... MS's eggs are mostly in the Natal basket, now, as far as Europe goes. As for America, nothing is needed. 360 will continue to outsell the PS3 there. They've got the momentum and the mindshare.

I think ms should just ignore Japan. They tried and it did not work. Japan is a small market so why waste any more resources there.

^LOL @ Japan is a small market. DS consistently sells >50000 units there every week.
But yeah, Japan no likee foreign products.
