Forums - Nintendo - Umbrella Chronicles: no zombies are allowed in Germany

Unbelievable! How far can you go to forbid a game entirely from out of a country. Well, by just saying: sorry, but we can't give this game a USK rating, so you can't play the game.

According to the Official Nintendo website in the UK, the highly anticipated Horror Survival Game:

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles for on the WII.

WON'T be available for Germany. This means, German players won't stand a chance to check out true horror on their own WII.

How about that??!! How difficult is it to give this game a 18+ rating, like all countries are doing on this entire planet.

My condolences to any German gamers here.

This is stupid! I remember they did the opposite in certain games before. They had to replace pedestrians with zombies in Carmaggedon in some countries... but why you want to ban killing zombies for? It doesn't make sense. What's next? People who want it that desperately can still just cross the border to one of the neighbouring countries of Germany as all PAL games are compatible. But glad I don't live in Germany. I'm so getting this game.

Isn't import of these games, completely forbidden in Germany? At least, from what I've heard ;)

@Joemanji: agree, Manhunt 2 is one thing, as the game looks really realistic, but Zombies, how real are those? I've never met one, have you?

Unfortunately a few countries in Europe still haven't realised that video games are not a thing that only kids play. Or well... more accurately the general population hasn't really figured it out everywhere, but the authorities in some places are more assholeish about it than others.

@Soriku: Oi, Mario isn't fat, he only has a tummy :D

You're right, why do we else have these ratings for. At first there were no ratings and they were nagging about the fact young children were playing mature games and that wasn't good for them. Then ratings came, but made it also very easy to ban these kind of games. And then... what's next? Are we going to hear that even a simple boxing game in WII Sports is too agressive so we could punch out people on the street for no reason?

I wonder though how they do that with horror movies in cinema's, or are they forbidden as well?

Taking your car and drive a few hundred miles to cross the border isn't import hehe. Well I see a zombie sometimes in the mirror after staying up really late to find out the latest news about Brawl hehe. I work at night here in Belgium. I come home 6am in the morning and the updates are only up around 8am.

Wow.  That's depressing.  You'd think the people making these ratings would have a better understanding of the material they rate/allow, but I guess not.

I totally agree with them. Violence in video games has gotten out of control and is corrupting young people. JOKING! I would pay some serious money to see some of your people faces reading the first sentence... :)

yeah i read about this too,so stupid and i feel sorry for the german gamers
