Didn't play but I think it's most likely a no. Different colored yoshis are for different players. It wouldn't be fair if each has their own abilities.

in smw a yoshis color determined special abilities. yellow had stronger stomps, red breathed fire, blue grew wings to fly, green had no powers but didnt have to be fed when hatched.
