Forums - Gaming - Mistwalker in FINISHING stage for their NEW GAME (What Console?!!)

@outlawauron - dude, you are kidding right? The game was not intended to be a revolution to jrpg's. How come noone had an issue with this style of turn based battles when final fantasy did it for like 6 games??? Just off the top of my head, lost odyssey added the linking, ring and immortality factors to battles. How does that lack originality?

Uncreative and unfinished is hardly what I would use to describe lost odyssey. Obviously our opinnions are different on this matter. But for the record I think the game design in it is incredible.  Also dude, fun should be one of, if not the first thing a game review looks at.

Bad design would the technical issues, framerate drops, and long loading times. Those are things you can not ignore and could have been eliminated or improved with more development time.

I'm not saying a game has to be revolutionary, but if they want high scores they need to make the product their own. Very few games can take things from many different games and still be unique.

The ring system became obsolete later in the game and immortality did not affect actual gameplay outside of the ability to skill link.

Montana I absolutely agree with you if you think LO was absolutely no fun.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

FFVII is the greatest jrpg bg any standard :)

You didn't play Final Fantasy X or Persona 4 did you?

I beat Persona 4 and spent over 120 hours on Final Fantasy X actually :)

@Monstamack - obviousley lol.

@outlawaruon - I disagree, the game was an absolute masterpiece even with a couple of flaws.

I take what I said back before about not having enough time to play games on all three systems. If Persona 5 or Suikoden VI become exclusive to the PS3 I will buy a system just for it. As if my Avatar wasn't hint enough.

It's just that simple.

My insider says to expect Persona 5 to be announced in Famitsu's March/April edition

What you're saying is contradicting, but I do agree that the game was awesome and I had tons of play with it. I'm not going to skip over the problems it has though.

Lost Odyssey is a unfinished product that lacked any original gameplay. I can admit that and I still think it's my 2nd favorite game this generation. How can reviewers reward an unpolished and completely uncreative design? The story was fantastic in my opinion and it was tons of fun, but judging fun is not part of a review.

...Why the Hell not?

Because that is completely subjective and will change based on the reviewers tastes in the genre. I will no fun playing a Tom Clancy title, but I'm not going to tell you that they're bad games. They're great games, but just not for me. Same with other series where I may not have much fun, but I recognize that's a high quality, top notch title.

A review is not just the listing of objective qualities, it is also about subjective qualifications of experience. Reviews without subjectivity - which do not address fun - are worse than useless, they're sterile.

^^ I agree.

There is no such thing as a neutral review, and if it is, it does not suggest a reader to buy or to stay away from a game.

This is why I want to see good and bad reviews of a game equally (from ones that actually played the game from start to finish) to see the good and bad points of a particular game
