Forums - Gaming - Mario has no story??

I had VERY high expectations, so I'm a bit disappointed too. Somehow I don't really get into that game. But I had the same problem with TTYD. The Paper Mario games just feel a little flat to me (pardon the bad pun).

SMRPG ftw!

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

I on the other hand didn't feel disappointed. I knew that the game wasn't supposed to be like the first to Paper mario games and therefore didn't expect it to be better than them. I enjoyed it very much though, just like my sister. The story wasn't that deep because it wasn't meant to imo. They made the game as simple as possible in terms of both: gameplay and scenario and they managed to pull off a rather good game. I am a specific person, because i never expect sequels to be better than the last game, and therefore never get myself disappointed.

Wondering

Fearing

Doubting.

To be honest, Super Paper Mario is so far the most boring Mario game I've played. I play a lot of games with major stories as I'm a RPG fan, but the story is boring and I've got the feeling I'm more talking to characters than I'm playing through the game. More bla bla than action.

Haven't finished it, as I got tired at the end of world 2. And when I read it gets worse after world 3, I'm not so sure if I want to finish it. I haven't played the Cube version yet, as I got it since recently so please tell me this game is more fun and interesting? The N64 version is without a doubt a lot better.

If you think that this game has the deepest story in a game ever, you better play a Star Ocean III, Xenosaga or even a Final Fantasy XII first ;) Now that's what I call a deep story.

I guess you could read the Bible into anything as the Bible covers just about everything. Hell they even compaired Terminator 2 to the Bible. (It was in Time Magazine.) They compared the storyline to Mary and Josephs fleeing from King Herod.

It was entertaining, but it probably was a 7/10. I mean it was something to look forward to in a struggling wii lineup. I bought it and beat it. I did notice that the pixls were rarely used after they were obtained. You can tell it started off as a gamecube game and then changed into a wii game. I thought some level designs was pretty good, aside from that though. It wasn't really a strong platformer, or it wasn't an rpg like previous ones. I think the reason it got rated as high as it did is because it waxes nostalgic. Still if your looking for something to play on wii and you've beat RE4 (and unlocked everything), beat MP3, Twilight princess and wii sports is getting old then you may want to try it out.

Oh is it called bible prophecies? Good to know, in Japanese they call it a yogensho (=prophecy writing). About the same then ;)

@Soriku, own it, only haven't played it yet ;) So its better than SPM?
