ok I know we're in a recession and I should be grateful for my job and blah blah blah, but I have to start getting ready for work in 5 minutes and I don't wanna go. So short from calling in sick, I need an excuse to not go! Any managers out there who can tell me some believeable excuses?

If you are not going to go to work you should tell your boss at least a day in advance. My parents hate when someone calls an hour before they have to work and says, "I can't work today". Then they have to call around and find someone that can work for you really fast. You will probably end up getting fired.
