"As Jon Stewart reported on last night's Daily Show, 30 GOP Senators (that's 75% of all Republicans in the Senate for those keeping score at home) recently voted in favor of KBR and Halliburton's right to gang-rape employees. It's shocking, I know. However, it is important to keep in mind that KBR and Halliburton directed Chinatown."

...

I'm sorry, but is this a real thing that happened?

30 GOP members voting against Franken's bill? Yes, its real

And its effect would be?

A lot of companies have contracts that say if you are involved in some kind of dispute of different kinds that you have to take things to an arbitration court instead of a regular court.

It's used to cut costs on complaints.

A lot of companies do it.

It's not really a "real" issue since the law is targeted at arbitration as  whole, and not arbitration against something like sexual crimes.

Largely rather then make a law what it should be.  Frankin made an overreaching larger law because it fit his agenda and people could shout "you support rapists!'.  Which is why Al Frankin was a horrible candidate to begin with.

Had he gotten rid of half of the contentions it likely would of got a lot more votes.  Negligient hiring, Negligient supervision and negligient retention has nothing to do with rape.

Political bullshit at it's finest.

ya I saw this on TV, I lol'd but was also disturbed...
