Now I'm not American so I hadn't heard anything about this, so correct me if I have anything wrong.  I just found this video somehow while browsing the web, and it is pretty new.

Here is a link to original 'boy trapped in a balloon' story.

The family are from Wife Swap (?), the story was that the boy was in a balloon that got away from them.  Although it turns out he was hiding in the house all the time.  When asked in this interview, he makes out that he could hear his parents calling him, but didn;t cout out because they had told him to do just that, for the show.

Key moment at around 30+ seconds, listen to the fathers sigh after the boy jus revealed their hoax ^^.  If this is true, they are terrible attention whores of parents.

Anyway, that kid has let it all go now, it was a hoax.

Not only are the parents stupid for doing this publicity stunt, but they are also stupid for thinking that a young child could successfully lie and pull something of this magnitude off.

That didnt sound like a sigh, it sounded like a fart.  The father probably sh!t his pants after his kid exposed their publicity stunt.

I saw it on the news the other day after my wife told me about it. I thought to myself they are stupid parents for leaving the balloon outside unattended with little children (just asking for trouble) and then proceeded to ignore it.

Honestly, I hope they get fined big time for all the lost resources that the cops had to waste trying to find a child that wasn't lost. There are a lot more important things for them to be doing than responding to hoaxes.
