Forums - Sales - Apple will OUTCASUAL Nintendo - Mark my words

Are Nintendo fans feeling the heat, because Reggie certainly is. Now with the HD systems making a comeback and the Wii looking worse and worse DS, will Apple take their position and start the cycle of destruction of core games again?

Your word shall remain mark free!

Nintendo FTW.

This is getting ridiculous. "Outcasualize"? *sighs*

i am too lazy to mark words, ironically i am not too lazy to respond to this thread:P

I agree with the intent of this.  The mobile device market will take over the casual portable market, and apple is the clear leader today.   What I don't  know, what percentage of the DS and PSP market is casual gaming.

ROFL, just proves people don't get it, Apple can try all they want, but they'll never be able to break into Nintendo's market, there is a reason Nintendo sells more DS's than Apple sells iPhones, because Nintendo doesn't try and causualize, they try and create games that appeal to the entire audience. Apple isn't a gaming software company, they'll never get that

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Oh man, with a name like that he's got the master plan!

(Reference to Sonic Adventure 2's Dr. Eggman theme song... OK, I'm leaving!)

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

How much game software has Apple published? What IP does Apple own?

Now take a look at the same things for Nintendo.

Case closed.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

I hate Apple. Mac's suck compared to PC's and the iPhone/iPod Touch are sad excuses for game systems. They're awesome for music and basic games like solitaire, but they are not gaming systems.

I think you're getting Mac's/iPod's mixed up with PC's/Zune's.

OT: You can't really compare a phone with a handheld gaming device.  Mainly because no one really buys and iPhone just for the games. That being said, whether the iPhone is a serious gaming device or not, games are selling on it.  And they are selling well.  I have about 32 games on my iPhone and that is not uncommon.  Some of them were free and the others were only a couple of dollars.  It's a totally different market, but one that needs to be watched nonetheless. iPhone/iPod Touch don't seem to be slowing at all (especially since iPhone's are going with the multi-carrier model in a lot of countries now). There are currently 50 million devices out they with access to the Apple AppStore. Not quite 112M that is the DS though.
