Anyway, actual subject. It's... hrm... not really something that someone can be taught or coarsed to be. (Likewise, I think "gurus" who make gays straight is a load of bull.) I don't want to get into the nature vs nurture; part of me thinks that it's something in some people that is awakened somehow. I'll post something similar to how I found out about myself:

First, sad as this may seem, access to a variety of porn is good. We all know it's abundant on the internet, use it wisely! If you're unsure (and since you were with a woman before, this would be a better route to go), take baby steps away from your comfort zone. Perhaps use straight sex (either video or pics) and focus on the penis entering rather than the vagina itself. From there, go slowly up the guy, to the shaft and the scrotum. During sex (thus, a video would be better here), notice the motion of the scrotum, drawing further attention away from the woman. Once you feel as though she's gone, you can move on to the next step.

So, you've removed the woman. Great! But that still doesn't mean that you should jump head-in. Next thing to do is find pics/vids of solo naked guys. Stare at them. Closely look to determine if they are cut or not. Observe their shaving habits. And then look for them pleasuring themselves. As a male, you probably have enough experience to know what is going on, and how it would (or does) feel. Once you start to feel empathy for the naked guy, then go on.

You're now appreciating the beauty of the male body. This final step is realizing that other males will also do so of your body, and you're willing to let them, as well as viewing their own. What would you feel comfortable doing or having done? Look for those kinds of items, and fascinate about it. Put yourself in the position of one (or both) of the other males. If you don't know where to start, continue to take it slowly. Start just with 2 guys kissing. It's tame enough, but the repulsion that some show for that is enough to send some away. If that's fine with you (or even seemingly tame), look for blowjobs or just a guy ejaculating onto another guy's chest. Continue working your way upward, toward anal sex. Mind you, there are some gay guys who do not care for doing some of these things personally, so don't be offended if someone doesn't really care for one certain activity.

From here, you can go into various fetishes, like S&M, animated (yaoi), twink, bara, 3-way, etc. There's just so many ways to go here that I really can't help you at this point. (Mind you, you don't have to have one.) It also should bear without saying that if you need to... take care of yourself... during this, feel free to. However, if you ever feel repulsed, especially in the first 2 steps, then it's probably safe to say that it's just not going to happen. Don't force yourself if it's not meant to be. You'll only be miserable, and that misery will be noticable should you be with another guy.

(And now that I stop to think about it, I guess that's not really how I found out about myself? It's a different story, but not relevant to this topic at hand.) Regarding the other posts in this thread, yes, there are several kinds of gay guys also. Stereotypes are just that. (I often say that I got cheated out of the useful ones.) One bad experience, be it with a male or female, should not be used to judge the group as a whole, though. It may teach you to avoid certain types of people/relationships, and that's where a failed relationship has its worth.
