wii wont even outsell ps2. I doubt it will even catch ps1.

Yeah...I doubt it ever catches either one of thsoe consoles...there is simply going to be too much competition in the coming years.  What's is amazing is that Wii's already broken the software top seller mark set by both of those consoles...even with over twice the amount of number of consoles sold! 

I don't think that the Wii will have the lifespan of the PS2. So no, it won't be able to beat it.

I think the software needs to be looked at in a different light.

You cant really use sales of games like wii sports or wii play. You cant really use wii fit either, its an exercise device, not a game.

Wii sports and Wii play are demos/controller bundles.

The best selling wii _GAME_ is Mario Kart Wii, which is still under grand theft auto: san andreas.

However, Mario Kart wii will surely blow past GTA: SA And become the best selling console game since the ps1.

Right after mario kart wii is Brawl, then Galaxy i think at about 8m, neither of which will beat gran turismo or GTA.

I'm not saying that these titles are bad, I'm just saying that they are outright not full release games.
Wii sports is bundled with every wii here in the states, and is basically a tech demo of what the wii can do, there's not much flesh there, but its loads of fun.

Wii Play is the same deal, its just a collection of mini games you could find for free on a flash game site,the controller sells this, but the software itself is not considered to bea full game

Wii Fit is obvious, it's an exercise device, it's an interactive one, but it's not a game, i mean, its on a console, but its more like an accessory, kind of like the soft ware that came with the eye toy for taking pictures or whatever.

It's good to see X360 leading in America again, but what a blow to ever console this time around. PS3 is still doing well, despite dropping from last week, it's been solid, and above my expectations.

i think uncharted 2 can give next week ps3 sales a little boost

with only about 1.4k consoles in the difference, given the margin of error vgchartz has, its safe to say that either could of actually sold more.
Its too close to say anything about them. They're selling at the same rate.

Without Halo, that is a MASSIVE achievement for the ps3.

That being said, ps3 will be over 360 for the next two weeks in america due to uncharted 2.

Wii Fit IS a game, just accept it...sigh.

BTW, who said Wii will outsell the Playstation family? I have his math teacher here and he's seriously pissed.
