M.A.G is indeed a persistent online game, maybe you all should read up about it again. Even when you aren't online the war is still raging and the next time you log in things are going to be different. It is indeed an MMO, or more precisely: a MMPOFPS. In terms of the number of players for Dust 514, if people had actually bothered to watch the interviews they would have found out that the game will have more than 16, but less than 256 players. Huxley is no longer coming to consoles, didn't you guys know these things already. I mean most of this stuff is really OLD.

MMPOFPS: Massively Multiplayer Persistent Online FPS.

link?

You need a link for what again? All of these things have been posted in threads before or can be Google'd, or found on sites like IGN. This stuff is everywhere, I find it hard to comprehend people don't know these things.

Or maybe I'm just online too much? LOL

Well...if there is indeed a persistent world, then it's a MMO...

This game has WIN written all over it, from the story, to it being tied in with EVE Online, presentation, and all. I'm super exicted about this game.

It seems your missing the point. It's just maps. There is no one big world. Can you walk for hours to get to another town? Fighting AI enemies in the wild to level you up? Can you join parties with other human players and enter some area to do a quest? NO. So although the war continues on, there is no REAL MMO persistance to the game. Imagine WOW with just maps where every time you played you fought other human. That would be a completely different experience and not classed as an MMO.

^^ Have you not observed the definition of an MMO?

Yes the difinition clearly states a persistant game world. Entering maps each time you play is not a persistant game world. A persistant game world is where you can walk from one end of the entire world to the other.

looks awesome

Well, yes and no. Technically, MAG is an MMO. I'm not sure how it is fully described though, although MASSIVE Action Game kind of hints at what the game is going for...

My question to you selnor is, why did you have to bring up MAG or Huxley when creating this thread, you know that causes trouble.

Hey? If people can find an offence to a game being in one category or another, they have a serious problem. I'm just pointing out that 100% of WOW or Eve Online players would never refer to MAG as an MMO. Huxley and MAG are cool in there own rights, but Dust 514 not only has better graphics than both looking at the vids. But has an amazing dev behind it. The title and OP was to invoke interest. Not in a million years did I think that people would be offended by a 3rd party game bettering to exclusives. After all, it happens alot this gen.

Sorry Selnor, not interested. These guys make EVE online, easily one of the most boring games I've ever played. I've got a few friends that love that game and still subscribe, they may be interested.
