So they're increasing the price and bumping it up to 60$ from the previous 50$.

Update: IW decides to remove Dedicated Servers and thereby shafting the PC gamers even harder. Completly destroying the competetive scene that made the COD franchise what it is today. And also, on another note;

"Yesterday, in a barrage of media announcements, it was made abundantly clear that Infinity Ward has no plans to support standard dedicated servers in their upcoming game Modern Warfare 2.  The community immediately responded by posting several petitions on the official IW forums, two of which were largely successful.  The two biggest petitions averaged 250-300 pages in length, totaling several thousand signatures each (it is unknown how many were duplicate signatures between the two).  Infinity Ward responded in force, and closed down the two largest petitions overnight.  

When gamers checked for them this morning, they were greeted with a "The topic you requested does not exist" message. "

Why is this shafting the PC gamer? In actuality wouldn't it be every cross platform game other than Modern Warfare 2 is shafting the console gamer?

Actually no. It's to my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that PC games are usually cheaper because there are no console royalties to pay. So, in essence, the $10 a consumer saves by buying the game on PC are the $10 (give or take a few dollars, dunno the exact number) that the console maker, be it Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo would get from a game on their console. So, in essence, Activision and every PC game developer sees the same return by charging less.

With this, Activision are earning more on the game on PC per copy than they're earning on the consoles

This is so stupid. Why suddenly raise the price from $50 when it's been that for years? Activision are a bunch of greedy bastards. I'll just torrent all of their games, the pricks.

Nope, there are licensing fees to pay on consoles, where as there aren't any for PC.
