When I read this I was like, "Aww that's really sad!"  Anyways I would truly hope that it passes them. 

Hmmm...I just thought of something.  If the PS3 doesn't beat the Cube and Xbox, will it be considered a failure then??? 

The interesting thing is that relative to last gen and market size the US has been the Wii's worst market so far (though that seems ot be due mostly to Nintendo vastly undershipping Wiis to the US). Of course we already know that the Wii has already or will soon surpass the Gamecube's sales in many countries and has set records pretty much everywhere. It's great to hear that it's doing the same in the US.

Oh and wow, I thought calling the PS3 a Gamecube was getting close to below the belt but now it's a Dreamcast! I've got to say that one is too far, if only to prevent Sony fanboys worldwide from having emotional breakdowns.

Last week's sales in America are now available. It seems that supply is increasing (possibly to counter X360's boost), but I still don't think it's enough to attain the milestone being discussed in this thread during October.

Remember that vgchartz's numbers are for America as a whole, and we're discussing USA numbers only here.

It's very likely (like it wouldn't happen) that Wii will hit 5.0 million mark before it has been 1 year in U.S.A.

The PS3 may not manage X-box/GC sales in the US, but it won't be as much of a failure as them in Eu/Japan.
