Forums - Nintendo - DS or the DSi?

So I accidentally left my DS in my pant pockets and it went through the washing machine. I was pissed to say the least. So now I'm not sure if I want to buy another DS or just get the DSi. Besides the obvious technological differences (losing the GBA slot, gaining the cameras, etc, which are basically a matter of personal preference), is it really worth paying the extra 50-60 dollars for the upgrade? Are the DSi Ware games decent enough? I'm leaning towards the DSi, but need that extra push off the fence.

Do you have any GBA games you still play?

If so, then stick with the DS, if not, while there might not be any huge advantages right now, there may in the future so why not get the DSi?

I'd just get a DSi.

Depends when the next generation of the DS is coming... but if the extra money really doesn't bother you that much then go for a DSi - you'll feel better about the tragic death of your original if you upgrade slightly coming out of it.

You mean it didn't work after being washed?
I thought Nintendo consoles were indestructible.

Seriously though, unless you have GBA games and no GBA to play them in, I would go with the DSi. My guess is that sometime in the next year, there will be DSi only content that will be worth having to the point that people will have to upgrade.

I'm still down with the Lite, but DSiWare is starting to tempt me a little...

Truth be told, I do have a few GBA games, but i hardly play them anymore. and i have an SP so i guess it doesn't really matter. DSi it is!

Why not get it fixed by nintendo?
