Forums - Sony - Is now the time to buy a PSP?

What do you all think? Sony has their new slim, and a plethora of quailty games (imo a bit more quality games than DS< thoough vastly lower overall quiantity, which is what drives sales- see N64 vs. PS1). By the time I could concivable beat all the great games already avialable, games like God of War, Grand Turismo, Sonics rivals 2 ect will be out. The game that I want the most by far is Final Fantasy Tactics: The war of the lions. However, the DS is basically getting their own version of the game this winter, and perhaps the slim will get a price cut in the future.

When do you think PSP will get a price cut, and do you think PSP is worth getting this Christmas?

I would only buy a PSP if I was able to get one that either a) has a custom firmware pre-installed, or b) is version 1.50 or 2.71, so a custom firmware could be easily installed.

I would not have bought my PSP if I was locked into Sony's restrictive firmware. Homebrew ftw.

I don't think GT for the PSP is ever going to be released...

With the new model now available it's a very good time to get one. I'm planning on getting one this Xmas.

just got one last week! star wars pack

Great time with the new Slim/recent price cut, the best purchase I've ever made in years!

I'm not sure, you may want to wait until March for GoW, then pick up Syphon Filter cheaper, and maybe Pursuit Force, Battlefront Renegade Squadron and Final Fantasy Tactics (i think those are all the top games)

add me

The PSP actually has alot of good games on it. In my opinion, the time to buy one was when it first came out.

It's always time to buy a PSP if you're a fan of great games and enjoyable experiences.

If you like the games on it then, yeah, why not?

why does everyone like homebrew so much? You have to buy the game that downgrades the PSP, downgrade it, install custom firmware, buy a huge memory stick, then download old PS1 games... (well at least for me, I have a snes, nes, and n64) IS it really worth the hassle?
There are like 25 games I want for PSP. THat should be enough. Now, how am I going to afford both a 360 and a PSP this holiday season.... XD
