Im sure this post has been made mutiply times already but i have to express my joy.Usually when a game is over hyped it falls short in many ways,But after playing Uncharted 2 for a couple of hours i have faith in review sites once again.I wont go into how amazing grapics,physics and environments are,From the snow that clings to your clothes and boots,to the water that soaks your pants, if you haven't invested in an hd tv i feel for you.Naughty dog has improved the gameplay leagues above its predecessor.Thats all i wanted to say Uncharted 2 should and will win game of the year.

Uncharted 2 (and 1) is (are) completely story driven. I think this saves it from over-hype.

From my experience, super hyped games tend to be low in the storytelling area. So when it comes time to play, I sit down, play for a half hour and say "This is it?" The amount of anticipation is boiled down into fifteen minuets of game-play. And no matter what, NO game can live up to massive hype with only a few hours of game play alone. (I'm talking single player here) My personal examples include: Killzone 2, Halo 3, GTA4. All highly rated but all disappointing for me.

As of now, Uncharted 2 sits at 97 on meta critic. This puts it (I think) 3rd highest rated game of all time. I can tell you that if it wasn't for story and characters, U2 would have definetly disappointed me.

But yeah it does look like it could be one of the best games out this gen.

Yeh halo 3 and killzone 2 really disappointed me but i expected gta 4 to be just as gta3,Ill play it for a while than get bored of the repetitive gameplay.Another not you your list that i bought into the hype wagon was ff12,which i quickly stopped playing.

well the most disappointing thing about this title is the stupid new box!!!!!!!. It looks so ugly next to the rest of my collection.. damn you sony!!!!!!!!!!

yeh i hear ya everytime i look at the box i ask myself wtf.But i guess sony thought out with the old in with the slim .

hypes always justified. What isnt justified is the people translating it into a metascore or sales.

I'm not disagreeing that Uncharted 2 has justified your hype, only suggesting that "hype satisfaction" is too subjective to qualify. For example, Gears and Halo gave me months (hell years for Gears 1/2) of enjoyment...therefore justifying all hype they received for me.

That being said, once I finish Uncharted (Valkyria stole my limited play time away from Uncharted and I'm a new PS3 owner) I hope to agree with you that Uncharted 2 lives up to the good press it has received.

How can you find the best games ever list on Metacritic? Can someone give me a link? It's really easy to find on gamerankings, but not so easy on Metacritic.
