Sorry. That the 360 had a better lineup in 2008 is arguable. Sony had an awesome list of exclusives in 2008 too.

There were two GOFTY exclusives for the PS3 in 2008: MGS4 and LBP.

so what? those are still only 4 games. and no, Ratchet is not an argument cause it's just few new levels and guns. it's like saying that ODST would be important(ie. game for fans of the series cause most of the people don't really give a damn).
4 action games don't mean good line-up - quality, quantity and variety means good line-up. personally i would consider it as the worst year for ps3 owners - if you're not into shooters and sandbox games you didn't have anything this year from ps3 exclusive except Demon Soul's. yes, i know people who have ps3, won't be picking up Uncharted 2 and didn't picked up Killzone 2 and Infamous either - even funnier is that the only game they will get this year will be Demon Soul's which they have to import cause it won't be released in europe.

Who cares who had the best game of 2006, 2007, 2008 blah blah blah, its all an opinion anyway, the games both of you listed arent going to appeal to everyone, hence why every game doesnt sell 20m+. This thread is about yo_john being dissappointed this year and trying to help him find games to not be dissappointed.

I agree, most of the DLC sucks as well.

actually gamestop has masseffect2 and crackdown2 are multiplat. and rumor has it that left4dead 2 will also be hitting ps3. but yea ms didnt have much for this year.

This looks a lot like the JRPG argument a month or so ago. "This one doesn't count because of this, that one doesn't count because it is only in japan, that one doesn't count because it is similar to this. oh and that one also doesn't count because I don't think it should count."

A game is a game. L4D doesn't count because it is just new levels? Halo 3 ODST didn't count because it was just a new campaign and 1 new multiplayer mode and a disc with multiplayer stripped right off of Halo 3? Ninja Blade doesn't count because it is majority QTEs? Like in the RPG argument, Star Ocean doesn't count because it is going multiplatform?

What about MLB09 The Show? Does that not count because it is an update to MLB08?

That can easily be flipped. If you own a 360 and like 3rd person action/adventure, platformers, RPG, Baseball then they won't have anything to play this year.   Also Infamous and Killzone 2 don't just vanish because it is October. New owners still have a sandbox title and a shooter. So let us see here -

Platformer, Shooter, Sandbox, RPG, Baseball, Action/Adventure. That is just exclusives. You also want to get into the stupdi quality over quantity argument? PS3 has 4 AAA games this year alone according to that stupid standard and you know what else? All 4 games are of different genres. How is that for quality and variety?

I think both consoles had a good lineup this year, but I personally feel that the PS3 had a much better year.

For the OP, I would recomend Batman Arkham Asylum. Coming up of course are Dragon Age & Assassin's Creed 2, both of which should be alot of fun as well. You can also check out http://www.metacritic.com/games/xbox360/ to see if you missed any quality titles that you might be interested in. I will be playing Tekken 6 / Demon Souls as well.

The reason why i picked a PS3 is because i knew that Sony could sustain a constant stream of high quality exclusive like they have always done because they have the biggest 1st party.
