I just got the game today, and he is making a mountain out of a molehill. The controls take about 5 minutes to get used to, and the loading takes about 5 to 10 seconds.

Depending on how frequent the loading times are, that could be really bad, or not an issue at all.

Playing Gran Turismo 4 I remember having load times of around 5 seconds or so, only they were so frequent that browsing around became a pain. In a major FPS, 5-10 seconds is nothing when they only interrupt you once every 10 minutes or so.

There isn't a lot of loading, so It isnt really a problem. But then again I'm only about 2 hours into it.

How long would it take you to get use to the new jelly bean placement?  Two, three secounds?  Considering each jelly bean has a nice little illustration in the middle to show which bean does what and the game pauses so your not under any threat or pressure while selecting.  Also 5 to 10 secounds for load times?  OH NOES!

Seriously?  Really?  Especially the game in your sig does the exact opposite of this when comes to item management (and IS frustrating in real time because you CAN DIE.)  then one of the highest rated games this gen has load times like THIS...

Yeah....  If your willing to wait 2 minutes of a guy smoking cigerettes and watch cutscenes as long as 30 minutes or more, somehow not lose immersion from the game then I dont think 5 to 10 secounds will ruin that.
