Stop being delusional, Penance was easy? Dark Aeons were easy? What the hell kind of grinding did you go through, and equipment setups? All these super bosses kill you in one hit, Dark Yojimbo anyone?

Actually it's only humanly feasable to defeat the Dark Aeons and Penance in FFX using the Ultimate Weapons, I can't even fathom to defeat them while doing 1/10 of the damage, especially the Penance battle.
As easy as it was, Penance had always a small chance to do a one hit kill attack, so the battle dragging 10x longer would only increment those chances over time.

@Ultibankai
The only grinding I ever did was in the Monster Arena, farming Speed Orbs from Fenrir so I could have 255 speed on each character.
With 255 Speed, Coupled with Auto-Haste on your armor, and using only quick hit, you would ensure that at most, even the fastest Dark Aeon, Shiva, and Penance, would get at most one hit in 20 or 25 of your hits. The rest was only HP management.

basically were exploits every knuc and cranie of the game...FF's epesciall 7 and up are just easy to take advantage of
Ultimate Weapons are hard to get. You had to earn them. You deserve to cause a lot of damage not just because you found them, but because you had to up your strength too. That's completely fair.
In the same way, Kights of the Round is fucking hard to get too. You had to figure out how to breed Chocobos, spend a fuck load of money feeding them, and spend a lot of time racing them to up their classes. It paid off in the end though!
Reverse and Decoy were there from like the beggining. For you to BUY. They obviously didn't think all the way through about how easy the game would become by using that.

It depends, because that strategy only is trully useful against Omega Mark II, I have tried it against other bosses like Yiazmat and Zodiark and it's a resoundful fail, especially against Zodiark :P
So I guess that Reverse and Decoy is really more of an experiment to see how gamers are paying attention to all the spells they are using, instead of using the same ones over and over again (Shock and Purge i'm looking at you).

And what's up with you thinking Zodiark is hard? I breezed right through him. To tell you the truth I don't even remember the fight.

There are more examples of those in most JRPG games.
In Parasite Eve you'll get an item that is called Junk, and it's exactly that, Junk, most players would simply discard the item when they get it. Careful and experimental players would find that there is an option to discard the same junk on the police office. The best part is that when you discard 300 pieces of junk on the police office, you'll get an option of making a Super Weapon that is more powerful than everything you find on the game.
Most players back then missed those overpowered guns, just because they didn't bother with it
