i love RE 5, and Fable 2. Otherwise i agree with your list.

I didn't think RE 5 or Fable 2 were bad just not what I was expecting, especially RE 5. On the other hand I haven't played RE 5 in co-op so I can't judge that aspect of it and welcome back.

i think my expectations for RE 5 weren't as high as others, probably because the demo left me with a sour taste. The final game changed my mind and even though many people hate on the game, i still believe its better than 4. Its bigger, faster, and longer, or as many people say, RE 4 HD.  I've spent many hours playing the mercenaries game, and upgrading every weapon. Best co-op game in my book. The ending did suck though.

My expectations were extremely high after RE 4 which probably played a part in me being disappointed in it, but I also didn't like the AI partner so maybe co-op would have changed my mind.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

well just for the record, i can tell you my #1 disappointment for this gen.

Super Smash Bros Brawl - one of the most over hyped games of all time, failed to deliver with its shitty online, and slower game play, which somehow according to people, balanced the characters. More characters, more items, stages, and fan service for Nintendo fans is appreciated, but i was expecting much more. Me and my friends rather play melee than brawl any time of the day.

Man I love how Esa-Petteri pretends to not know what trolling is. Sometimes I kinda want to believe him.

My list would be:

1) Too many FPS games, too much brown and gray and bloom.
2) Lack of innovation or even interesting art.
3) With that said... reviewers somehow giving more perfect scores this gen than any other, especially to crap like GTA4.
4) EA milking SimCity, the Sims, and Spore to death, scaring Will Wright away from his own company.
5) Developers wasting time over-analyzing this "strange new casual market" instead of realizing that 99% of gamers are, have always been, and always will be casual gamers. They should just shut up and make a bunch of games for everybody.

I agree with this list and will crown you king for the day.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

I was never a big Smash fan, but I thought it was known that SSBB was less balanced than the last games and mods (?) were released to alter that or something to that effect.

1. No actual shining force,
2. Still no remake of shining force 3, which actually has strong justification unlike many games
3. Why doesn't herzog 3 exist?
4. Various cheaters online, honestly what's the point?
5. Black Knight 2000m summer time and tomcat yet to appear on any of the pinball hall of fames, Farsight needs to make more of these awesome collections
however this gen is going to see a new genesis game, and the genesis is officially back in production, so overall that mitigates a good chunk of the disappointments putting it basically on par with every other generation, except the 16 bit gen as that had a fighting game with a scottsman that shot fireball out from underneath his kilt

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. The death of the niche (your game is not mainstream, it's meant to seriously bomb)
2. Review system totally broken
3. Nintendo totally losing it for the past 1.5 year (not sales-wise)
4. The rise of the "hardcore"
5. Everybody praising HD when it has been available to the PCs for over 10 years

RE5, AC, and Fable 2 are great, not disappointments at all.

1-5. There are a few titles I wanted on the Virtual Console that have yet to appear/may never appear. Those qualify, for me.
